Sport again at last - live sport even! The Urban Cyclocross Zurich, which had to be canceled at the end of March, will be replaced by the new "EKZ Cyclocross Challenge" format on Sunday, 17 May, featuring a star-studded cast. Sina Frei, Lars Forster, Kevin Kuhn and five other top Swiss athletes will play the leading roles in the new cyclocross challenge. This will be held as part of the newly conceived Urban Bike Festival DIGITAL, a two-day live show.

There is one clarification regarding the Mountain Bike World Championships. Following the cancellation of the Cross-Coutnry World Championships in Albstadt, Nino Schurter may not be able to defend his rainbow jersey until 2021. However, the final word on the World Championships has not yet been spoken. The UCI is working to ensure that the title fights can still be held elsewhere in 2020. The UCI will announce as soon as possible whether or not there will be a replacement event this year.

After announcing the postponement of three races, the EKZ Cup now has to cancel the first three events on the already adjusted race calendar. The races in Hittnau (ZH), Eschenbach (SG) and Egg (ZH) will not take place this year. The reason for this is the ban on events with more than 1000 people imposed by the Federal Council until the end of August.

The latest event victims of the Covid-19 pandemic are Mont Saint Anne and Whistler. The latter town traditionally holds an Enduro World Series race and recently had to cancel the race. Mont Saint Anne is the oldest member of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup calendar, but its organizers also had no choice but to cancel. Following these cancellations, the revised race calendars have been thinned out considerably and Zermatt is the opening race of the Enduro World Series.
