Luca Schätti (BIXS Race Team) delivered a strong performance at the season finale of the Škoda Swiss Bike Cup in Gränichen. The rider from eastern Switzerland pulled away from his competitors as early as the first lap and cruised to an unchallenged start-to-finish victory on the technically demanding course. With this victory, Schätti overtook the previous overall leader, Fabio Püntener—who did not compete in Gränichen—and secured his first-ever overall title in the Škoda Swiss Bike Cup.

“I had no idea before the race that I could still win. That makes me all the happier now. I felt strong today and was able to stick to my race plan,” said the overall winner afterward. Behind Schätti, Marcel Guerrini (BIXS Race Team) and Joris Ryf (Specialized Factory Racing) rounded out the podium. In the end, Guerrini was beaten by Schätti by just two points in the overall standings.

Koller leaves nothing to chance

Nicole Koller also left nothing to chance at the season finale. The Swiss Cross-Country Champion took the lead early on and confidently controlled the race all the way to the finish. With her victory, Koller simultaneously defended her lead in the overall standings and secured the series title. “Winning the overall title is really cool and proves how consistent I’ve been this season. As a Škoda rider, it’s even cooler to win this race series,” said Koller. Lia Schrievers (KMC Nukeproof MTB Racing Team) finished second, and Noelle Buri (UNNO Factory Racing) came in third.

Grossmann’s Impressive Season

In the U23 categories, Niklas Franz (STOP&GO Marderabwehr MTB Team) and Fiona Schibler (Bike Team Solothurn) came out on top. With their victories in Gränichen, both also secured the overall titles. Joel Stoffel (Thömus - Young) and Anja Grossmann (TRINITY Racing) can also call themselves overall champions in the U19 category. Particularly impressive: Grossmann won all the junior women’s races in this year’s Škoda Swiss Bike Cup. Stoffel finished fourth in Gränichen, where Marwan Karim Barhoumi (Pédale Bulloise) claimed a commanding victory.
