The inaugural Škoda Swiss Bike Cup Kids Champion event in Moléson-sur-Gruyères was a success, drawing over 400 participants. Local hero Aubin Favre provided a highlight by winning the U17 category.

The inaugural Škoda Swiss Bike Cup Kids Champion Event in Moléson-sur-Gruyères was a resounding success. In summery weather and surrounded by an impressive mountain backdrop, the young riders rode exciting races and created a fantastic atmosphere around the compact racecourse in the canton of Fribourg.&

A highlight for Fribourg bike fans was the U17 boys’ race. Local hero Aubin Favre (Team Chiﬀelle / O2 MTB) lived up to his role as favorite and celebrated a commanding victory in front of his home crowd. The U17 European champion pulled away in the third lap and won with a 43-second lead over Joris Kübler (RRC Amt). Diego Imhof (RC Gränichen) rounded out the podium in third place. “It’s incredible that I was able to win my first race here in Moléson. There were a lot of people along the course whom I knew—that gave me an extra boost,” said Favre after his first home race.

Breitler Unbeatable

The outcome was also clear in the U17 girls’ category. Lena Breitler (VTT Balcon du Jura) prevailed over Lina Baldauf (Lexware Mountainbike Team) and Milla Oehler (Zubi - VC Eschenbach). In the U15 boys’ category, Fynn Stebler (RV Wetzikon) celebrated a narrow victory over his teammate Kilian Kleiner. Among the girls, Ronja Stalder (RC Gränichen) won convincingly.

The Škoda Swiss Bike Cup continues on May 30 and 31 in Savognin. The next cross-country races in the series are scheduled to take place in the Grisons mountains.
