Pieterse and Hatherly are the new cross-country world champions
At the Cross-Country World Championships in Pal Arinsal, Andorra, Puck Pieterse and Alan Hatherly each land a first for themselves and their nations. These are their first elite cross-country world championship titles and also the first for Holland and South Africa. The Swiss come away completely empty-handed, although Mathias Flückiger's performance is remarkable given the circumstances. Isabella Holmgren (CAN) won the U23 women's race ahead of Olivia Onesti and Emilly Johnston (CAN), while Luca Martin (FRA) took the title ahead of Switzerland's Dario Lillo and Denmark's Tobias Lillelund.
