Stans gives the rims a wide treatment

Plus is the motto for the rims from Stans NoTubes. And by plus, we mean an increase in the inner width: the Crest, Arch and Flow rims have been given between two and five millimetres more width in the "MK3" development stage, while the weight has been reduced and the stiffness increased.

Flow Ex was yesterday, today the verdict for enduro rims at Stans is ZTR Flow MK3. The new rim now measures 29 millimetres on the inside, whereas the Flow EX was 25.5 millimetres. With this width, the rim can cope with tire dimensions up to 2.8 inches - i.e. plus sizes. The wheel base is available in the dimensions 26 inches (weight 459 grams), 27.5 inches (480 grams) and 29 inches (527 grams).

The Crest MK3 and Arch MK3 rims have the same design as their Flow counterparts: The profile is wider and flatter, with the manufacturer promising an increase in stiffness of up to 25 percent as a result. The inner width of the Crest rim increases by 2 millimetres to 23 millimetres, while the inner width of the Arch increases by around 5 millimetres to 26 millimetres.
