How about another reference to Jan Christen's versatility: in 2021, he won the junior Swiss championship titles on the track, in the time trial, in cyclo-cross and on the mountain bike. You could also say that Jan is top in every cycling endurance discipline. If you also need good riding technique, he is just as strong as when merciless speed bolts are required on the oval or on the road (although riding technique on the track and with the time trial bike should not be underestimated).

If he can maintain his versatility and continue his development at the same pace, Jan has what it takes to follow in the footsteps of Mathieu van der Poel or Tom Pidcock, who are both among the absolute world leaders on the road and on dirt. His love belongs to the road, but he wants to ride cyclocross and mountain bike races for as long as he can. And to win, of course.

Despite his professional contract, Jan wants to complete his commercial apprenticeship, which he is doing in a hospital. And he wants to win the SRF 3 Best Talent Award. Cross-country skier and triathlete Anja Weber and leading athlete Audrey Werro also want to do so, as the award is endowed with CHF 12,000 from Sporthilfe. All three would have deserved the prize, Christen perhaps even needs it less than the other two. But as a real athlete, he is in it to win it. No matter who you choose, you can cast your vote here.
