Swiss Nicolai distributor turns oval things

The portfolio of the distribution company Rasant is on the move: The company is now supplying specialist retailers with products from Absolute Black. Absolute Black has made a name for itself since 2008 with innovative products such as 10-speed cassettes with 40 teeth and (oval) chainrings.

Since 2008, the British company absolute Black has dedicated itself entirely to perfecting 2-piece disc rotors, adapters for converting a 10-speed cassette to 40 teeth, sleekly designed Ahead caps, XX1-style pulleys, innovative hubs with magnetic freehub and XX1-style chainrings. The development and marketing of oval chainrings is also an important area for the family business.

The company Rasant GmbH is the new distributor for absolute Black in Switzerland. Geri Bugmann from Rasant reports on absolute Black: "The design office is located in the UK, where the products are also anodized to guarantee the highest standard. Production is in Poland. The founder, Marcin Golem, is a Polish engineer, designer and former employee of Trek Bicycle Corp. Over the years, he has acquired extensive knowledge of physics and CAD design."

In addition to the components for the drivetrain, the Black Diamond hub stands out from the absolute Black portfolio. The freehub is unique: instead of steel springs and pawls, two strong round magnets are used on two "ratchets" - there is a worldwide patent on the magnetic ratchet system.
