This year's BYND Festival is the result of a partnership between Green Hill Bikepark and Bike Republic Sölden. The unique combination of the two destinations sets new standards and offers an innovative platform for the entire industry.

Green Hill has catapulted itself to the top of the top bike parks in Europe since opening in 2022. As organizers of the "BYND The Hill Festival" 2023 and with Swatch Nines as a high-level partner, they have created a unique fusion of cycling and festival feeling that cries out for repetition.

Mountain bike fans will now get their money's worth every summer, as the BYND festival will alternate annually between the two locations. This year, Sölden will host the "Bike Republic Sölden Festival BYND The Mountain" for the first time from September 13-15, offering everything a rider's heart desires: Athlete sports, everyman contests, brand areas, side events, music acts and spectacular parties. Visitors should be able to immerse themselves in the sport and experience the special vibe that this unique combination creates.

Swatch Nines MTB in Sölden for the first time

The celebrated mountain bike event returns to Sölden in Ötztal from September 9 to 14, 2024 with a new venue. After five days of progression sessions and photo and film shoots (09.-13.09.), mountain bike fans can become observers on September 14 when the best athletes in the world put their talent to the test at the Bike Republic Sölden on a specially designed, challenging course.

Some of the biggest names in the mountain bike scene have already confirmed their participation. They include stars such as Sam Reynolds, Veronique Sandler, the most successful German slopestyler Erik Fedko, YouTube star Sam Pilgrim, Casey Brown and many more.

In the coming weeks, selected athletes will work together with the organizers, designers and in close cooperation with the partners to create a spectacular set-up.

From the Brand Area to the Mountain Top Party

The BYND festival area around the Giggijochbahn in Sölden stretches further than the eye can see over the weekend. In the main area at the valley station, you can stroll through the industry's new products in the dedicated brand area, relax in the chill-out lounges after the ride and party with the whole crew to the main acts in the evening. Side events such as the "BYND Whip-Off", Scrub and Bunny Hop Contest will take place in the immediate vicinity. For even more fun, there are contests for everyone to take part in and watch. The Bike Republic Sölden and the exhibitors themselves offer rental and test bikes for guests.

In addition to action-packed sports events, well-known music acts and cool theme parties complete the festival vibe and ensure an unforgettable atmosphere above the clouds. Chilled out beats from selected DJs can be heard at the valley station in the afternoon, before the big "Mountain Top Party" takes place in a breathtaking setting on Saturday evening. Whether you're an experienced pro, a newcomer or just interested in the sport, there's room for everyone at the "Bike Republic Sölden Festival BYND The Mountain".

Getting hyped @ Green Hill Pre-Event in Schmallenberg

To really get the mood going, the pre-event for the "BYND The Mountain Festival" will take place at the Green Hill Bikepark from June 22 to 23. The brand area at the Schmallenberg location offers brands a second catchment area under the BYND 2024 mantle and creates the opportunity to build a bridge to the main event in Sölden. The highlight of the pre-event is the "Become a Nine" contest, where riders have the chance to win a wild card with which they can qualify to take part in the Swatch Nines MTB in Sölden. The athletes will be the judges.

"Two events, one festival. With the pre-event, we are giving visitors and brands the chance to experience BYND over a longer period of time," says BYND founder Felix Saller. "The hype surrounding last year's Whip-Off will be continued. Riders can secure a place for the finals in Sölden by qualifying on Green Hill."

Green Hill Bikepark: Green Hill has managed to set new standards in a short space of time and create a first-class bike park experience. As one of the few mountain bike destinations in Europe, the trails in the Green Hill Bikepark were built entirely without external materials and using only the resources available on the terrain. The park uses a former ski lift and is one of the largest mountain bike destinations in Germany. In addition to a wide range of trails, Green Hill also offers courses for every level, in-house rental and the corresponding culinary delights.

Bike Republic Sölden: The Bike Republic Sölden as the flownation of the Alps, has its reputation not only due to the extensive trail network and its variety of trails for bikers of all levels, but also due to the imposing mountain landscape and epic views, where adrenaline and panorama meet. Swatch Nines: Swatch Nines was founded as a counterpart to traditional competitions - as a playground where athletes can develop in the safest and best possible way, documented by the best filmmakers and photographers. Professional mountain bikers in summer and skiers and snowboarders in winter take part in the Swatch Nines because of its unique format, attractive venues and high-end media production. The surf counterpart is also new with the premiere in 2024 in Waco Surf, Texas, USA.
