As in the last two years, the Swiss Cross Country Championships will take place as part of the "Proffix Swiss Bike Cup". The 2021 title race will already take place on May 29/30 in Gstaad.

To mark its tenth anniversary, the Cube Actionteam is realigning itself and signing Veronika Brüchle and Jonas Goeweil. Swiss rider Gusti Wildhaber will remain with the team. He will also support the young riders with his experience.

After five years on WTB tires, the Swiss enduro twins Anita and Carolin Gehrig are switching to tires from Kenda Tires. Long-term partnerships such as with Norco, DT Swiss and others will be continued.

Valentina Höll is regarded as the greatest talent downhill racing has to offer. Having grown up on YT bikes, the Austrian won everything at junior level. Now Höll is switching bikes and joining the RockShox Trek Race Team for the 2021 season. Her team colleagues include up-and-coming Scottish shredder Jamie Edmondson, two-time Canadian junior downhill champion Ethan Shandro and the fastest kid in Whistler Mountain Bike Park, 15-year-old Tegan Cruz.

Racement, the organizers of the iXS Downhill Cups, provide a preview of the race calendar for the coming season. The iXS European Downhill Cup comprises four races, the iXS Downhill Cup six, including the final race in Bellwald, and the Specialized RockShox Rookies Cup offers up-and-coming downhill riders five races. The provisional calendar will be published subject to change depending on the current situation.

In 2013, Remi Thirion shook up the downhill scene with his World Cup victory in Andorra. After his best downhill season in 2020, the Frenchman ended his long partnership with Commençal. In 2021, the 31-year-old wants to try and top his successes of last year on Giant bikes.
