Trek launches Gary Fisher collection

With the "Gary Fisher Collection", Trek is bringing the ideas of the cult brand of 29er pioneer Gary Fisher back to Switzerland.

Swallowing up large, profitable companies is nothing unusual these days. Last year's announcement that Gary Fisher would no longer be sold in Switzerland already left the media wondering what would happen to the cult brand from overseas. Now the situation has been clarified: "The Gary Fisher brand will no longer exist," explains Tobias Nestle, Marketing Manager at Trek. Supported by the slogan "Dreamed by Fisher - realized by Trek", a Trek-labelled Fisher line will be offered from 2011. Trek wants to make better use of synergies and make the bikes accessible to a wider audience via its extensive dealer network. The 29er collection includes two race fullys and hardtails for various purposes, which will gradually be available from retailers from July.
