Trek with new trail bike - "Mini-Plus" and new technologies characterize the Fuel EX Plus

The Fuel has been part of Trek Bikes' product range for 16 years. However, the latest version has been given some striking changes - the Fuel EX 27.5 Plus rolls on its own 2.8-inch Bontrager Chupacabra tires and has undergone various geometry adjustments. The path from the former cross-country bike is now totally aimed in the direction of a 140 millimeter plus trail bike.

A stiffer frame and fatter tires, together with an increased suspension travel of 140 in the front and 130 millimetres at the rear are the main features of the new model. The new 2.8 inch Bontrager Chupacabra tires roll on 40 millimeter rims. This change improves traction and stability, but keeps the weight and rolling resistance low enough to maintain nimble handling and easy acceleration. The chainstay is kept extremely short at 433 millimeters. Fans of 29-inch wheels need not worry, the Fuel will also be offered on the market in a 29 version at a later date.

Carbon and aluminum version

The new frame is available in either an aluminum or OCLV carbon version. The carbon version is considered one of the stiffest developments in the trail bike segment. The frame is protected from scratches on the handlebars and components by the "Knock-Block System". Thanks to a special technology in the stem, the handlebars can only be turned by just under 90°. All cables are routed internally on the Fuel, and the geometry can be adjusted to the rider's needs thanks to the Mino Link System. The Fuel EX Plus is available in three versions.
