In October 2023, Velafrica celebrates its 30th anniversary. Since 1993, the non-profit organization from Bern has been collecting disused bicycles, repairing them in social institutions in Switzerland and exporting them to partners in Africa. Velafrica is celebrating a special milestone just in time for its anniversary: the 300,000th bicycle has left Switzerland for Ghana.
