Velosolutions is gamifying its pump tracks with the Vorld app

Nine years ago, Velosolutions came up with the idea of developing an app that could measure lap times without a transponder. Today, Velosolutions is launching the Vorld app, a gamified version of more than 200 Velosolutions pump tracks in 26 countries. Vorld measures lap times, counts laps, tracks progress in the Vorld rankings, and motivates users to ride pump tracks regularly.

It has been nine years since Velosolutions first began exploring the idea of developing an app that could accurately measure lap times without requiring pump track riders to purchase a transponder. A complex undertaking. But on May 1, 2026, the time has come: the pump track pioneer is launching the Vorld Pump Track app. It can be downloaded for free from both the App Store and the Play Store for free.

A maintenance-free system

To ensure that time and lap tracking works, the Vorld-Gate is already installed at more than 200 Velosolutions pump tracks in 26 countries, with more being added every week. The Vorld-Gate is discreetly built into the ground and requires neither electricity nor maintenance. “Cities and clubs that want to activate their Velosolutions pump track for the Vorld app are invited to contact us,” says Velosolutions founder Claudio Caluori.

On activated pump tracks, riders can earn points by placing on the daily and monthly leaderboards. Leaderboards are available for both lap times and the number of laps. Since points are awarded daily, it’s worth visiting pump tracks as often as possible. The more points, the better for your Vorld ranking.

Here’s how it works

The world map in the Vorld app shows the nearest Velosolutions pump track with a Vorld-Gate. Once you arrive at the pump track, activate the timer and start riding. The stopwatch starts automatically when you cross the red Vorld line. After each correctly completed lap, the lap time is calculated when you cross the Vorld line again.

As soon as you finish your ride, the number of laps with the respective lap times and your position in the current rankings are displayed. At the end of each day and each month, points are awarded for the Vorld ranking. There are great prizes to be won.

Not just for bikes

Just as pump tracks are ridden on all kinds of rolling equipment, Vorld isn’t just for bikes either. Different age categories and disciplines have their own rankings: bike, skateboard, inline skates, scooter, and wheelchair. There is also an overall ranking for those who earn points in more than one discipline.
