The Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide celebrated its premiere in 2015 and has been a crowd-puller ever since. The organizers consistently counted spectator numbers above the 20,000 mark, and this was always intensely noticeable in the atmosphere.

Because of the World Cup premiere in Crans-Montana, the "Bike Kingdom" is taking its first World Cup break this year, much to the regret of the fans and athletes. For both, however, there is now a justified reason to look forward to it. As Crans-Montana will not be able to host the World Cup in 2025 due to the World Championships, Lenzerheide is trying to host the event again. The exact date is not yet known. According to OC President Chrisoph Müller, however, the world's best mountain bikers should once again provide excitement and atmosphere at the foot of the Rothorn in June 2025. The declared aim is to hold a triple event again, with cross country, short track and downhill, provided there are no clashes with other World Cup organizers.

Lenzerheide has not yet been awarded the contract to host the World Cup next year, however. According to Müller, the decision should be made by the end of September at the latest, during the Road World Championships in Zurich. The 2025 World Cup calendar will then also be published. If Lenzerheide is included again, it will alternate annually with Crans-Montana in the World Cup calendar.
