This means that the park is closer to being realized than ever before. The permits have been granted, the financing is secured and the legal framework is now in place. After many years of planning and battling with various critics and obstructionists who are not always beyond reproach, the park should now soon be realized. How long the construction will take and when the opening can be expected has yet to be determined.

Right next to the freestyle park, the city of Zurich is planning a large bike park, which is designed as a symbiosis of a dirt park, a BMX track and a pump track. Preparations are also in full swing here, although this project is facing much less resistance than the freestyle park on the other side of the road.
