BMC kommt erstmals mit 27.5-Zoll-Bike
Although the BMC mountain bike product team has focused on the most effective wheel size for mountain bikes in recent years with 29-inchers and adapted the big-wheel concept geometry accordingly, BMC could no longer ignore the demand from dealers and riders for smaller wheels. The Speedfox Trailcrew deviates slightly from BMC's focus on 29er wheels with the popular 27.5-inch wheels. It is the latest result of BMC's ongoing efforts to produce the ideal bike for every biker.
The new Speedfox Trailcrew is intended to be a little more playful compared to its big brother due to its geometry and specifications. During the concept phase, the BMC engineers were not satisfied with slight adjustments to the Speedfox geometry to suit the smaller 27.5-inch wheel size. A new bike with its own geometry was therefore developed. The two Speedfox Trailcrew models 02 and 03 are dedicated 27.5-inch bikes with a new main frame and rear triangle, a special link and new suspension kinematics, whereby the shock is adapted to the new geometry.
The main frame of the Speedfox Trailcrew 02 is made of carbon, while that of the 03 model is made of aluminum. Both models share the aluminum rear triangle. The designations 02 - Carbon/Alumimium - and 03 - Alumimium/Alumimium - are nothing new at BMC, in contrast to the Trailcrew geometry. The engineers make full use of the possibilities and shorten the chainstay to 428 millimeters and flatten the head tube by 2 degrees compared to the Speedfox 29 to 66.5 degrees. The Speedfox Trailcrew is inspired by BMC's "Big Wheel Concept" for twentyniners and retains a long reach, a short stem and the 750 millimeter wide handlebars.

Guaranteed fun with a downward trend
The BMC technicians tune the APS suspension kinematics differently than in the past, in line with the trail crew motto "less racing, more fun". Antoine Lyard, Mountain Bike Product Manager at BMC, says: "The Speedfox range used to aim for a 50:50 ratio of pedaling efficiency and downhill performance. The Speedfox Trailcrew aims for more of a 50:60 ratio of climbing to downhill fun. That means we increase the fun factor to 110 percent!" The new kinematics are aimed at a softer response. This is ensured by a higher deflection ratio and a more progressive spring characteristic curve.
The new models are available in five sizes from XS to XL and have an additional standover height compared to the Speedfox 29.
