Stöckli: In gleicher Formation in die Saison 2007
For Thomas Zahnd, Thomas Spichtig, Daniela Louis, Renata Bucher and Urs Huber, it was already clear in September that they would continue to ride for the Lucerne-based ski and bike manufacturer's bike racing team in 2007. The additional human and financial resources invested in the team in 2006 were successfully converted into top results by these riders. The most outstanding of these was Thomas Stoll. The 24-year-old won the renowned Swiss marathon racing series iXS swiss bike classic and came second in both the European Bike Marathon Championships in Italy (behind the eventual world champion Ralph Näf) and the Swiss Championships (behind world-class biker Chritstoph Sauser).
He gave Stöckli priority over interesting international options, explained Stoll. "The main reason for my decision was on the sporting side. I have had very good experiences with the Stöckli team this year. The conditions were always ideal for performing well. Everything works the way you want it to from a team," said Stoll, explaining his loyalty after a year of working together. The strongly performance-related contract for next year motivates him to achieve further top results. The man from eastern Switzerland will now be recharging his batteries on vacation in the south in the coming weeks.
