Stöckli versenkt seine Bike-Marke
Press release Stöckli:
The company has been manufacturing its own bike developments for the Swiss market since 2010 and sells them in its own Stöckli retail stores. During these years, numerous popular bike and e-bike models have been launched under the Stöckli brand. The bike manufacturing market has changed significantly in recent years and is characterized by investment-intensive and increasingly short-lived innovation cycles. Under these conditions, Stöckli has decided to withdraw from in-house bike development. The funds freed up will be invested in strengthening and expanding the two core business areas of ski and retail. The Swiss bike brands BMC, Flyer and BiXS will now be available in the company's own stores instead of Stöckli's own brand.
Strengthening bike expertise in own retailWith this step, Stöckli is expanding its bike and e-bike expertise in its stores. The change in strategy from an own-brand to a multi-brand range with BMC, Flyer and BiXS enables a wider selection of models. In addition, the bike service and bike accessories areas will be further expanded in the branches. This means that all customers, especially Stöckli bike and e-bike owners, can continue to expect the usual service and warranty services. "We are continuing to focus on Swissness and want to become the most important specialist dealer for BMC, Flyer and BiXS," says CEO Marc Gläser, setting ambitious goals for his own company.
Expansion of the ski business
The company intends to invest more in its ski business, which has existed since 1935. In the international market in particular, the further development of the subsidiary founded in the USA in 2016 and the expansion of distribution in the promising Chinese market will be intensified.
