Following the official opening of the Gempen bike trail in March and official training being allowed on the St. Chrischona, the Basel bike politicians have also achieved their first successes on the Blauen. The verdict issued by the Basel Forestry Office was successfully challenged in Liestal, and the MTB event in the Blauen area can now go ahead as planned. The successful battle for the Gempen has set a precedent and now facilitates all efforts to open up other interesting bike routes in the Basel region. Even neighboring South Baden has declared its willingness to cooperate regionally. The proposals should be available for consultation in June.
