The pump track specialists from Velosolutions have given the pump track and dirt jump facility in Hölstein in the canton of Basel-Landschaft a proper makeover. The new track will be celebrated at the "Oris Cup" on May 30th.

Unfortunately, it is nothing new for individuals to intervene in user conflicts with vigilante justice and make paths impassable with the help of tree trunks and nails. A serious accident therefore occurred on Wednesday evening at Gempen in the Basel agglomeration: Unknown persons had blocked the officially approved path for bikers with tree trunks in an unclear, very steep section. Because a biker from the region was unable to stop in time, he fell and suffered moderate injuries to his face and back. In recent weeks, nails had also been discovered on the path in question, which had been driven through the roots by unknown persons - this is a case of willful bodily harm.

Harsh tones from the secretariat of the Swiss Cycling section of Basel: in an attacking email, Graziella Wild accuses board member René Walker of being a "cheeky bastard", a dreamer and a disrespectful guy. The reason for the accusations: René Walker is trying to get the cycling association out of financial trouble by founding a patrons' association. The letter from the wife of former association president Andreas Wild is so out of place that athletes such as Ralph Näf are now considering foregoing race starts in the two cantons of Basel.

In the Basel agglomeration, mountain biking is and remains a sport that is not tolerated by the authorities.
