Velo fans from the border triangle have already marked this date in their calendars: On Sunday, April 13, the Tour des Trucs will take place at the Aktienmühle in Basel from 12-18. The main component of the event is the bicycle parts flea market, which is entering its eighth round. Once again, the organizers are promising a wide selection of used, inexpensive, high-quality, antique, rare or special bike parts, clothing and accessories. And this at over 20 market stalls.

Those who don't want to buy or sell bike parts will also find what they are looking for at the event. Under the name VeloCultour, an extended supporting program will take place this year:

Filmic support
Supported by Salome Lützelschwab, the organizer of the Bicycle Film Festival- Basel, the audience will be able to enjoy regional and international short bicycle films on Sunday afternoon and the animated film Les triplettes de Belleville at the end.

Schnitzelcat is another item on the programme: in the style of a scavenger hunt, the Messenger Event Organization is organizing a round trip that combines games, sport and excitement on a bike. It starts early on Sunday evening.

Patching and cleaning
And once again this year, there will be the now established and popular Pufli, the bike cleaning and mending day, this time supervised by neighborhood mechanic Fabi & Freunde. "Make your bike shine again and get some non-binding advice from the experts," says the organizer. Cleaning equipment will be provided, and repair kits and various spare parts can be purchased at a reasonable price, is the announcement.

You can also be inspired by the creativity of the Balkan Tango team. In the Balkan Upcycling Workshop, the motto is creative work and crafting with leftover materials such as defective bicycle inner tubes.

Culinary delights will also be provided at the 2014 Tour des Trucs, with brunch, open barbecue and café bar accompanying the event.
