Four months after BMC's parent company ISH AG took over the majority of shares in the German bicycle manufacturer Bergamont, the Swiss sales structure is changing. From next week, all Bergamont's Swiss activities will be handled by the new subsidiary, which, like BMC, will operate from its headquarters in Grenchen.

All Bergamont bikes for the 2009 season are already being delivered via Bergamont Swiss AG. The original plan was not to adjust distribution until next year. According to ISH, the change was brought forward because it would allow the company to exploit synergies in administration (i.e. save costs) earlier.

Stefan Schär remains on board
Stefan Schär, Managing Director of the previous Bergamont distributor Swiss Sport Motion GmbH, will also be responsible for sales at the new Bergamont Swiss AG. In addition to him, all other employees of Swiss Sport Motion will also transfer to the new sales company. According to Stefan Schär, Swiss Sport Motion GmbH will continue to exist until the transfer to ISH has been completed. However, the company will no longer be active externally from the beginning of March.
