New generation: ABS

Bosch has had the anti-lock braking system in its portfolio since 2017. This first ABS generation was characterized by a rather large box in front of the head tube, which was only very hesitantly accepted by the market. The Swabians have now presented the second generation of ABS and are rolling it out with different modes adaptable for e-mountainbikes, e-bikes and e-cargobikes. The common denominator in each case is the necessary brake from Magura, the MTB C ABS. This brake is characterized by a long lever and a large oil reservoir on the lever. Bosch has developed the ABS Trail for e-mountainbikes.

Practical: Hill-Hold

The e-mountainbike weighing almost 30 kg is standing on a difficult slope, the push-assist helps to push it up, but the colossus is still reluctant to move up the unrideable section? Then the new Hill Hold function comes into play, which automatically prevents the bike from rolling back unintentionally when pushing uphill.

Comfortable: Auto mode

For this model year, Bosch is introducing an Auto mode for the Smart System. This should provide even more comfort, as the motor assistance adapts automatically and can react to environmental conditions such as inclines and headwinds. Adjusting the riding mode - or applying more or less muscle power - is then no longer necessary.

Finally: theft protection

Bosch is finally introducing anti-theft protection: the so-called eBike Alarm increases security when parking the bike: The new alarm function, in conjunction with the new ConnectModule and eBike Lock, warns of theft attempts and allows the position of the eBike to be determined.

Fresh: control units

The System Controller control unit is a new addition to the Bosch eBike. This is elegantly integrated into the top tube and provides information on the charge status and which support mode is active. Another new addition to the portfolio is an Intuvia 100 display. This is wireless and connects to the LED Remote handlebar remote via Bluetooth.

More comprehensive: motors and batteries

The Performance Line, Performance Line Speed and Cargo Line drive units are now also available for e-bikes with the smart system. In addition, the batteries in the PowerTube series not only offer 750 watt hours, but now also 500 and 625. The traditional batteries in the PowerPack series are now also available for the Smart System, with 545 and 725 watt hours.
