BionX and Yamaha - these are the motor suppliers for Wheeler's e-mountainbike fleet. At BionX, the large motor is traditionally located in the rear wheel and packs a lot of torque, while Yamaha's powerful mid-motor will provide more power, lower dimensions and less weight for 2017.

The motor remains in the rear wheel, but otherwise BionX is firing off a few innovation rockets for 2016. The battery integration is innovative, there are new features for the satellite control element and a new display is also at the start. The path to the E-Fully has also been paved.

What looks like a modern scooter at first glance actually has plenty of steam under the hood: in cooperation with the car manufacturer Mini, which belongs to BMW, the Canadian electric drive manufacturer BionX has designed a motorized scooter.

The D-Series motor from BionX - unique in the e-bike market due to the large motor housing, which is located inside the spoke frame - was previously only available as part of a complete bike. In view of the Eurobike, the Canadian drive specialist is now also offering this motor, which shows its strengths particularly on hills, as a retrofit kit.

If you buy a bike in future that is equipped with a BionX drive system ex works, you will benefit from a longer warranty period - if the customer and the specialist dealer pay attention to a few points.

For the 2014 model year, the Canadian drive specialist BionX is expanding its product portfolio with a new rear hub motor that is particularly suitable for e-mountain bikes. The official launch partner is Wheeler, where off-road bikes with the new motor are rolling into the range.

Until now, cassettes with an integrated freewheel were fitted to the rear wheel of a BionX drive. Due to this system, there was only a modest selection of gradations and qualities to choose from. But this will soon come to an end.

With the e-bike boom, specialist dealers are also in demand as mechatronics engineers - and to make this work easier, drive manufacturer BionX is providing a new dealer software platform. The new interface not only serves as an update tool, but is also intended to be used as a communication tool.

Until recently, only a freewheel cassette with new sprockets could be fitted to the BionX drive wheel. With the 10-speed cassette now available, this drivetrain is now compatible with current mountain bike and trekking drivetrains. The Canadian electric mobility specialist is also adaptable when it comes to wheel sizes.

The Canadian e-bike drive manufacturer has designed its motors not only to accelerate everyday cyclists, but also to deliver good performance on long climbs. For alpine riding conditions and for the start of the season, the drive provider offers an additional support level with "Mountain Mode".

Intercycle is entering the electric bike market and adding BionX products to its range. The Canadian company produces drive units that allow any conventional bike to be converted into an electric bike. In addition to Swiss distribution, Intercycle will also integrate BionX products into its own brands Wheeler and BiXS.
