Pantera? That's the metal band - and for old mountain bike fans, a thoroughly iconic hardtail from GT. It has spent a long time in obscurity and is now experiencing a resurrection. In line with the latest trends, 27.5 Plus wheels are of course on board - and much more besides.

The two New Zealanders Brook MacDonald and Sam Blenkinsop show how to ride the local trails in Rotorua. The two friends clearly feel at home in the dense jungle. Shortly after the video shoot, it was announced that Brook MacDonald was joining GT. Also new to the GT Factory team is Anneke Beerten

15 millimeter thru-axle, slack steering angle, space for wide tires... Doesn't that sound like a mountain bike? No, these are some of the key technical specifications of the new road racer from GT, which is all about adventure.

For the 2015 model year, GT is launching the Helion. A cross-country fully that is designed to be lightweight and stable at the same time. 110 millimetres of suspension travel, 27.5-inch wheels and a new geometry, together with the AOS suspension system, also make the Helion trail-ready.

With the complete overhaul of the "Zaskar" line, GT is presenting a fully for this product range for the first time. In addition, the Americans are also putting the hardtail and the fully on big wheels.

With a streamlining of the Ruckus line, which will only include the Ruckus DJ, GT is adding a new bike to the range. The "La Bomba" combines several areas of use with pump track, dual slalom, fourcross and dirt.

With the "Distortion", GT has an appealing, downhill-oriented "light all-mountain bike" in its range for the coming model year. While the fork has 140 millimetres of suspension travel, the rear end gives the bike 114 millimetres of travel.

With the new edition of the Ruckus, the GT stand at Eurobike had a real eye-catcher on display. The prototype impressed with its appealing design. With the matt black and the green anodized components, GT has hit the nerve. The bright green matches the equally bright colors of the coming fashion year. As the GT employees only got to see the bike themselves at Eurobike, it was not possible to elicit much information from them.

GT presents the new bikes for 2009 in Livigno. The most striking innovation is the "Fury", a downhill bike made entirely of carbon, which replaces the previous "Dhi" model. The frame of the "Force" all-mountain full-suspension bike is also made of carbon and is 600 grams lighter than the old model. The full-suspension cross-country bike "Marathon" features a new rear triangle with seat stays made from the lightweight material. The "Sanction" has been adapted for freeride and bike park fun. And finally, the hardtail "Zaskar" is now available in a 29-inch version.

With Pacific Cycle Inc., a heavyweight in the bike industry is joining the American association "Bikes Belong". The aim of the association is to promote cycling in the United States and make it safer.

Last week, the majority shareholding in Pacific Cycle (Schwinn, GT) was transferred from "Wind Point Partners" to the Canadian group Dorel Industries. The previous majority shareholder had been looking for an interested party for over a year. The new owner Dorel Industries, based in Montreal, has grown up manufacturing furniture and child seats. No sooner had the ownership changed than Pacific Cycle went to court against Maverick American and Klein for patent infringement: their rear triangle designs are said to infringe the patent rights of GT's i-Drive system.

From 1992 to 1997, the lively American was GT's head of marketing in Europe and the driving force behind the brand's success. After his time in Europe, Holcomb was international marketing manager of the bike supplier until 1999, but had to vacate this position after the sale to Questor

A year ago, GT presented the "i-Drive XC", the second generation of the unconventional suspension system, in which the bottom bracket is located in the swing arm but is firmly connected to the main frame, thus eliminating drive influences on the suspension.
