News from Californian bike manufacturer Santa Cruz. Their latest addition is called Bronson and rolls onto the enduro market with 650B wheels and 150 millimetres of suspension travel. The frame is produced in carbon and aluminum and is equipped with common standards such as the "tapered" headset or the 142 millimeter installation width.

The Californian cult brand Santa Cruz has revised its flagship downhill machine, the "V10 Carbon", and reduced the frame by over 800 grams. This means it now weighs just 3.6 kilograms with steel spring shock absorbers - with an air shock, the weight is reduced by a further 450 grams.

One of Santa Cruz's bestsellers par excellence is getting a sibling: the "Tallboy LT". The short-stroke "Tallboy" has been described by various mountain bike magazines as one of the best 29er bikes ever. Now, with the "Tallboy LT" made of aluminum and the "Tallboy LTc" made of carbon, two all-mountain models of the successful model are coming.

The Californian bike manufacturer Santa Cruz is expanding its twentyniner range with the "Highball Alloy" and the "Superlight 29". Both aluminum bikes should be attractively priced and available from retailers from mid-April.

It weighs 2.55 kilograms including the shock, is still based on the VPP suspension system and, as with the old Blur LT, still has 140 millimetres of travel.

200 millimetres of suspension travel were previously reserved for downhill bikes. Now Santa Cruz is launching the "Driver-8", a model in this suspension class that can be used much more widely. The Californians define the range of use as a park bike that should feel at home on downhill trails, single trails, northshore trails, jumps and even short climbs.

Santa Cruz has discovered carbon as a frame material and relaunched the Blur cross-country bike. The bike, which is now made almost entirely from the plastic, is still based on the VPP suspension system, but now has 105 instead of 110 millimetres of suspension travel. The weight has also been reduced: the frame alone has been slimmed down by 500 grams and the entire bike should now weigh just 10.2 kilograms.

The new Blur LT also belongs to the class of all-mountain bikes and is a further development of the old Blur LT, which was launched in 2005. The frame is completely new and the rear triangle has also been revised, with the suspension travel increased to 140 millimetres. The new frame is designed for forks with suspension travel between 140 and 160 millimetres and offers a lower top tube for more freedom of movement.

Englishman Steve Peat is joining the Santa Cruz Syndicate team for the coming season. Last Friday, Peat signed a three-year contract with the Californian team. It had long been known in specialist circles that he would no longer be riding with his long-standing partner Orange.

The bikes of the luxury brand Santacruz are now being distributed by "Toys for Boys". The company emerged from the Zug-based Boarderfactory. Santacruz bikes are to be given a new lease of life with the Central Swiss company and the number of bikes sold is to be massively increased. The bikes were previously distributed by the parent company "boards and more", which can now concentrate fully on snowboard production.

After concentrating on VPP bikes in recent years, Santa Cruz has relaunched the single-pivot "Bullit". With a solid aluminum frame, 1.5 inch head tube and 180 millimeters of travel, the Bullit is a bike for rough terrain that is still easy to ride uphill. With the new freerider, Santa Cruz now has four single-pivot bikes in its range to complement the bikes with VPP kinematics.
