The Walter Mountainbike Team from Sulgen and the Thurgau sporting goods importer CHRIS sports are starting the 2024 mountain bike season together. The team from the Swiss municipality of Sulgen is now competing under the name "Mondraker Walter Mountainbike Team" and will be equipped from "head to profile" with products from the CHRIS sports range.

The cooperation marks a significant milestone for both parties and is a further step by CHRIS sports AG to underline its commitment to cycling and the promotion of talented young athletes.

From head to toe

This partnership will see the bike team fully equipped from "head to toe" with products from the CHRIS sports range. From this season, they will be riding the Mondraker F-Podium RR SL with SRAM/RockShox components, Pirelli tires, Selle Italia saddles and Zipp wheels. Giro provides the optimum equipment with helmets, shoes and clothing from the Giro Custom program. Look pedals, Lezyne tools and lights as well as Dynamic lubricants and care products are also firm companions of the trio from this season. Thanks to bike travel bags and backpacks from EVOC, the boys are perfectly equipped for their trips around the globe. Off the trails, items from the New Balance and DUER collections ensure a stylish appearance.

"The partnership between CHRIS sports and the Walter Mountain Bike Team is an exciting step for both sides. It is important to us to promote young sporting talent and thus help shape the future of mountain biking. With our products, we offer athletes the best possible support so that they can achieve their sporting goals and inspire the next generation of mountain bikers," says Andreas Guglielmo, CEO of CHRIS sports.

Mondraker Walter Mountainbike Team

The Walter Mountainbike Team has made a name for itself in the mountain bike community in recent years. Until now, the team consisted of the two brothers Simon (born in 2000) and Andrin Walter (born in 2002) from Sulgen. The 18-year-old Mauro Hassler from Chur joined the team for the 2024 season. Lukas Ottiger, the cousin of the two Walter brothers, acts as team manager in the background and ensures smooth organization.

Lukas Ottiger, team manager of the Mondraker Walter Mountain Bike Team, proudly announces the groundbreaking partnership with CHRIS sports. "This alliance provides our athletes with first-class equipment and enables them to reach their full potential. Thanks to CHRIS sports, we have a single partner for all our equipment, which simplifies our collaboration. The geographical proximity facilitates logistics and promotes a close exchange in order to get closer to our goals together. This partnership marks a milestone for our team and underlines our relentless dedication to excellence in the sport of mountain biking."

The Mondraker Walter Mountain Bike Team has clear goals for the season, including participation in World Cup races, ÖKK Bike Revolution and selected Swiss Cups.
