Cableway Weissenstein AG has taken note of the ruling issued by the Canton of Solothurn's Department of Construction and Justice on 27.2.2023. The Board of Directors of SWAG is of the opinion that the conditions imposed by the decree for the construction of a launch area on the west side of the mountain station, if not make orderly operation with separation of visitor flows, i.e. the separation of hikers and mountain bikers, and efficient operation in the launch area impossible, then severely hinder it. Seilbahn Weissenstein AG (SWAG) regrets that the anti-tourism stance of the objectors is supported by the Department of Construction and Justice. The decision prevents a sensible, future-oriented solution on Solothurn's local mountain and runs counter to the interests of hikers, conservationists, hunters and mountain bikers.

Weissenstein Seilbahn AG has lodged an appeal with the Administrative Court against the decision of the Department of Construction and Justice (BJD). For the time being, the construction of a starting area within the framework ordered on 27.2.2023 by the Department of Construction and Justice of the Canton of Solothurn will be waived and the mountain bike route will not be put into operation.

Of course, the Weissenstein cable car will continue to offer bike transport and take bikers up the mountain. The official bike trail, some of which has already been completed, will remain closed until further notice, as neither orderly operations nor a rescue service can be guaranteed at the moment.
