Fox expands its range with the 38 enduro fork

Suspension fork manufacturer Fox presents its new 2021 line and with it the new "38" model. As expected, this thoroughbred enduro fork closes the gap between the previous trail version "36" and the downhill model "40".

The Fox model designation is as trivial as it is self-explanatory: the number corresponds to the diameter of the stanchions. The higher the number, the stiffer the fork, the harder the area of application. The range goes in steps of 2 from the cross-country model "32" to the downhill fork "40". The only gap so far has been the 38. With this in mind, it is also clear where its area of application lies: in tough enduro use and for trail-oriented e-mountainbikes.

The 38 has a stroke of 160 to 180 millimetres. According to Fox, it offers a whopping 38 percent more torsional stiffness, 17 percent more braking stiffness and 31 percent more bending stiffness. Fox's forks now feature "Lower-Leg-Bleeders" air valves at the rear of the fork tubes. This allows a larger internal volume to be achieved. In other words: If you are climbing with your bike in high alpine areas with thin air or if too much pressure has built up inside the fork due to hard use, the internal pressure can be adjusted via these valves.

The Fox 38 is available in 27.5 and 29-inch versions and in the Factory, Performance Elite, Performance and E-Bike model variants. The weight for the lightest configuration is specified as 2180 grams.
