On some Giro Merit helmets manufactured before January 2023, the helmet straps can detach from the helmet if they are pulled with relatively little force. This can pose a risk of injury to the rider in the event of an accident. Giro is not aware of any incidents in practice related to this problem.

This recall only affects Giro Merit helmets manufactured before January 2023. A Giro Merit helmet can be recognized by the model designation "Merit" on the back of the helmet.

The model designation "Merit" and the alphanumeric identifier (GH230) are also noted on the adhesive on the inside of the helmet.

Consumers should stop using the helmet immediately and visit the website https://www.giro.ch/merit-recall/&nbsp. There you will find all the necessary information for a free exchange. Consumers can also contact the retailer from whom they purchased the helmet.
