New to the 2019 calendar is Snowshoe in West Virgina, where the World Cup final will take place immediately after the World Championships in Mont-Sainte-Anne. All other venues are located in Europe in both 2019 and 2020. The same applies to the following year, when the downhillers will start the season in Lousa, Portugal, instead of Maribor. However, the 2020 season will be exceptional for the cross-country specialists, with four World Cup races scheduled after the Olympic Games in Tokyo, including the season finale in Les Gets at the end of September.

The downhillers will compete in eight World Cup races in both years, while the cross-country riders will compete in seven races and six in the Olympic year. The fact that the Eliminator discipline will continue to take place outside of the traditional World Cup circuit remains unchanged and, with its half-hearted wallflower existence, is unlikely to have any long-term prospects.
