Flückiger gewinnt Auftakt der ÖKK Bike Revolution 2023 am Monte Tamaro.

Strong performance by Mathias Flückiger in the first race of the ÖKK BIKE REVOLUTION 2023. He wins by a large margin ahead of Vital Albin and Luca Schätti. Italian champion Martina Berta wins the women's race.

Bernese mountain biker Mathias Flückiger is back on the top step of the podium. In the mountain bike race in Rivera, Flückiger pulled away from the field in the first of seven laps and continuously extended his lead. In the end, he was a proud 2.30 ahead. The race behind Flückiger was more exciting. Lars Forster was the first to be thrown back with a flat tire. Team colleague Vital Albin took over the chase from Flückiger. The Grisons rider ended up in second place. Luca Schätti followed in third place.

A national champion also won the women's race. It was Martina Berta from Italy. She took the lead in the third of six laps and never relinquished it again. Berta was followed by Sina Frei and Nicole Koller. World number 1 Alessandra Keller came fifth.

Over 700 participants battled for the day's victory in Rivera in the elite, junior and amateur categories. The ÖKK BIKE REVOLUTION continues in just over a month's time, on May 6-7, with the city spectacle in Chur, the home of world champion Nino Schurter.
