The second stage of the Hero UCI Marathon World Cup in Capoliveri (Elba, Italy) was won by South Tyrolean Jakob Dorigoni after he broke away at the front alongside Stefano Goria (2nd). Kenta Gallagher was one of the UK’s rising cross-country riders and particularly excelled in Eliminator races. However, he switched to downhill racing, where he soon found himself among the world’s top 20. Soon, however, his skills were in demand as a coach, and so he ended his racing career. For several years now, he has been responsible for the riding skills of the Cannondale Factory Racing Team. After the World Cup, though, Kenta enjoys his home environment and the trails of Inverness that shaped him.

At the Swiss road classic, the Tour de Berne, mountain bikers also showed their class on narrow tires. Alessandra Keller won the Elite Women’s race solo, ahead of Lea Fuchs and Rahel Aschwanden. Her teammate Lars Forster followed suit in the men’s race, winning ten seconds ahead of Noah Bögli and Loris Rouiller.
