The voting barometer shows 15.73% for Dario Cologna, followed by Roger Federer in second place with 21.39%. The final result is then published: Nino Schurter wins the long-awaited title of "Swiss Sportsman of the Year" with 33.99%, more than a third of the votes. The multiple world champion had already been nominated nine times, but it was never enough.

It is now only logical that the tenth nomination should be enough, as Schurter has already earned this prestigious title several times in recent years.
Schurter made no secret of the fact that he would love to win this award. He describes the fact that it took ten attempts to win this title as a tough nut to crack, saying: "The hard-fought victories are the best!"

With the title of "Sportsman of the Year", Nino Schurter not only achieves his last major goal, he also makes history. Because so far, neither the women's nor the men's sports awards in Switzerland have ever gone to mountain bikers.
