The countries of the world may do what they like - probably the most fun and open republic in the world has developed around Sölden. In the "Bike Republic Sölden", everyone who enjoys biking and treats nature and all fellow citizens with respect is welcome: Friends of the flow as well as freeriders, trail beginners as well as downhillers, children as well as older generations. The Bike Republic is a place where everyone can feel at home and find almost endless trail material right at their fingertips.

Smoothest flow material, crisp rides, tours specially designed for enduro riders - the Bike Republic serves up a varied bike menu with its nine perfectly shaped lines, 15 natural trails and two pump tracks including a skills center. This extensive area not only offers a network of well-maintained trails, but also an all-round pampering program. There are more than 30 mountain pastures, huts and restaurants spread across the mountain and down in the valley, bikes can be serviced in well-equipped bike stores with workshops and maintained at the bike wash stations.

Long Lines - non-stop

Because the citizens of the Bike Republic Sölden are so hungry, the new "Gahe Line" is the second route over seven kilometers in the 2019 season: it meanders 7.6 kilometers on the Giggijoch side from Sonnblick to Grünwald. The flowing surf route also connects the "Harbe" with the "Lettn Line", offering around twelve kilometers and 1000 Elevation loss of the finest riding fun. Gahe means "fast, nimble" in Ötztalese and you can really let it rip on the new line.

This makes the Gahe even longer than the legendary "Teäre Line" and the "Ollweite", the high alpine highlight ride of the republic, which starts close to the glacier below the Langegg mountain station at 2,600 m above sea level and winds down over an extremely varied seven kilometers with cool berms, slightly blocked stone fields and wooden constructions.

Bike Opening from June 07 to 10, 2019

To kick off the Bike Republic Sölden, manufacturers will present and rent out their brand-new equipment on the Expo grounds. The huge big air facility towers above, where pros and amateurs will be twirling their tricks in the air. While on the ground Danny MacAskill puts on his drop and roll show and the Austrian Pumptrack Series makes a stop. And for all enduro riders, the first absolute highlight of the season is of course on the agenda as always: The legendary scavenger hunt - probably one of the most fun race formats the bike scene has to offer.

Bike Republic National Day and Trailmaster Challenge

On Bike Republic Sölden's National Day, there is not only a huge all-round program: expo area, rides and courses, a great kids' program and because enjoyment is at the top of the list, of course, essential things like craft beer, barista and BBQ. There will also be what is probably the most exciting comeback of the bike summer: from September 2019, trail-hungry fans of relaxed dueling will have every reason to celebrate. The legendary multi-stage race, the Trailmaster Challenge, is coming back after a six-year break. It has found a new home in the Bike Republic Sölden.

The challenge was launched ten years ago by freeride pro Rob Heran. It developed into a season highlight for many ambitious amateur riders and professional athletes. As part of the Bike Republic National Day from September 6 to 8, 2019, the new Trailmaster Challenge champions will be crowned in Sölden. The battle for the title demands a lot from the participants in three different disciplines.

It starts on Friday, September 6th at nightfall. The first challenge in the form of a short but technically demanding downhill sprint will take place under floodlights. The finish line is the Expo area at the Gaislachkogl valley station, where the first winner of the day will then be crowned. Of course, music and good food are not to be missed.

Saturday starts off very relaxed. The new 2020 bikes from the exhibitors can be tested extensively both on the Expo site and on the mountain. In the afternoon, however, it's full speed ahead: "Race mode" on is the motto when the participants compete for more points in the dual slalom. Man against man, woman against woman, and also junior against junior in the Trailmaster Kids Race. Exciting races are on offer on a newly created course with obstacles for all skill levels.

In the knockout system, every centimeter is fought for, because this challenge is not only about winning the day, but also about points for the overall standings. The Whip Off Jump Contest in the evening, where the pros ring in the big Saturday party, is out of competition. But watch out, party animals: the big highlight follows the next morning.

Because on Sunday, the winner of the Trailmaster Challenge will be determined in the final competition. After the mass start, the riders have to cover 1,500 meters of descent along the best lines and trails of the Bike Republic Sölden. The magical combination of endurance, tactics, technical ability and above all willpower is needed to master this descent in one go. Whoever crosses the finish line first is probably not far away from the title of "Trailmaster 2019". However, only the participant who best masters the various challenges on all three days will ultimately become the new Trailmaster Champion.

Despite all the ambitious racing, the Trailmaster Challenge is still a relaxed event that celebrates the community spirit and the diversity of mountain biking in the Bike Republic Sölden.
