This week, Zurich is all about "Cycle Week

From Wednesday to Sunday, Zurich will be ringing the bell: Cycle Week is making its debut. It is the first bike festival in Switzerland to be open again after the Covid restrictions. The event is therefore spread across several locations: Europaallee, Brunau, Josefwiese, Jumppark Sihlcity and, of course, the Uetliberg for the practical sessions. Access to the entire offer is free of charge.

Due to the coronavirus restrictions, traditional events such as the Bike Days or the Urban Bike Festival were and are not possible. Against this background, the concept of the "Cycle Week" was created, which inherits the other two events and brings them together in a decentralized event. All cycling disciplines are now also united, from urban hipsters to shaven-headed slurry bikers and adrenalized mountain bikers.

During Cycle Week, the focus will be on two locations: Europaallee right next to Zurich main station and Sihl City near Brunau at the foot of the Uetliberg. Exhibitors with cubic glass containers are spread across the entire Europaallee, bringing the trade fair character right into the pulsating heart of Zurich. In contrast to the stylish Europaallee, Brunau is all about eating dirt. Here you can test the bikes from many exhibitors, and if you want, you can start one of the organized tours from here. From a gravel and road ride to a single trail trip to the Uetliberg and a cultural tour through Zurich, the program covers just about everything that is possible on two wheels. And if that's all a bit too active for you, you can join one of the many workshops.

The five-day Velofestival also takes place online: There will be live broadcasts every day at 6pm on the "Cycle Week Channel". The audience will be informed and entertained with inspiring talks on bike topics such as "Coexistence and development in alpine and urban areas" and "Mobility and safety" as well as product presentations, interviews and contests about bikes. The programs are produced with cycling experts, opinion leaders and athletes both in the studio and in the middle of the action of "Cycle Week" on the trails, parks and during the contests. Admission to Cycle Week is free. Registration is required for access to the Bike Village in Brunau and Jumppark Sihlcity.
