The air channel between the rim and insert acts like a valve. During an impact, some of the air is pressed into the channel towards the rim. The return flow of this air is minimally delayed due to the tight fit of the insert, resulting in reduced tire rebound and rolling resistance.

The U-shape on the top leaves more room for the trapped air and allows Tubolight to use a firmer foam with the same weight, which increases protection against snakebites even more. The snug and tight fit of the insert prevents burping and lateral rolling of the tire very efficiently.

The initial air pressure can also be reduced by around 25 percent, which significantly reduces the frequency of punctures and rolling resistance. OKO 'Magic Milk Hi-Fiber' is recommended as a sealant, which is also suitable for high pressure.
