Bikers, BMXers, skaters and inline skaters have been fighting for a freestyle park in Zurich for many years. An ideal location has been found in Allmend Brunau, but the "Party for Zurich" has now launched a referendum against it. For the city of Zurich, the construction of the freestyle park is of great importance in order to finally have adequate facilities here. Voters in the city of Zurich are called upon to go to the polls this weekend and reject the "Freie Allmend" initiative by voting NO, thereby enabling the construction of the freestyle park.

In the Graubünden municipality of Klosters, the rezoning for the construction of a downhill run from Gotschnaboden to Klosters will be put to the people. The construction of such a route is part of an overall project to establish the Davos-Klosters destination as an important mountain bike region. Although the mountain railroads all transport mountain bikes, there are no freeride or downhill facilities. This is now set to change and the construction of a multifunctional downhill route is planned. This will require a rezoning, which the people will now have to decide on. Voters in the municipality of Klosters are being asked to approve the rezoning with a YES in the interests of mountain bikers and sustainable mountain bike tourism.Mountain bikers have not spoken out politically for long enough, which has resulted in some very strict forest and road laws that are hostile to mountain biking. It is now up to them to stand up for mountain biking at the ballot box when faced with such obvious opportunities. The more clearly the vote goes in favor of mountain bikers, the clearer the sign that mountain bikers can no longer simply be dismissed as a rebellious rowdy minority. Ride is calling on all mountain bikers in the city of Zurich and the municipality of Klosters to take part in the referendum this weekend.
