From September 17 to 19, 2026, "Mondraker Enduro Team", the established team enduro fun race for experienced mountain bikers in Davos Klosters, will take place for the tenth time. For the anniversary event, the cult event is launching the 99+ category for teams of two. The other tried-and-tested categories for duos will remain, as will of course the extremely popular and unique Fun Teams category for three to six people, including e-bikes. In the spirit of an early Christmas, the registration portal will open on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 6 p.m.

The ski season is in sight and many snow sports resorts have already opened for business. Ideally, mountain bikers who are switching to bikes for the next few months should also stay in hotels that have a heart for cyclists in winter. Ride shows which hotels are particularly worthwhile.

Does the Alps Epic Trail live up to its name? Commentators have been arguing about it for years in the Ride tour database. What's more, the section through the Zügen Gorge always causes bad blood. Ride editor Stefan Michel also wants to have his say and has therefore put the tour to the test.

On September 3, 2024, Tom Oehler will be pushing his limits: In Davos, he undertook nothing less than conquering 15 mountain peaks on an e-mountain bike in a single day. After 14 hours in the saddle, a 102-kilometre route and 5,550 vertical meters, he makes history: a personal triumph, a sporting feat and a new world record.

This winter, Patagonia is back in the Alps with its Worn Wear Snow Tour 2025. This means free repairs for all types of outdoor clothing. The mobile workshop is visiting the Alps until the end of March.

In Davos, there will be a significant restriction for mountain bikers in summer 2025: the Parsenn cable car will not be transporting any guests throughout the summer due to maintenance work.

From September 5 to 7, 2024, the international enduro mountain bike scene met for the eighth time in Davos Klosters, Graubünden, for the Mondraker Enduro Team, a race for teams with maximum fun factor. With good weather and impressive mountain panoramas, the more than 400 participants in almost 150 teams enjoyed the alpine racing adventure on the first-class trails around the destination of Davos Klosters and cultivated the exceptional camaraderie of the international mountain bike community. The Himalayan Enduro Team with riders from Nepal and Bhutan, which was accompanied by trials star Tom Oehler, was particularly well received.

Alessandra Keller from Central Switzerland and Mathias Flückiger from Bern win the third race of the ÖKK Bike Revolution in Davos with aplomb. Keller wins ahead of Seraina Leugger and Ramona Forchini, while Flückiger prevails against Lars Forster and Luca Schätti. The form curve for the Olympic Games in Paris is right.

Tom Öhler is the undisputed switchback king - no one masters the tight turns more smoothly than he does. Now he shows all possible versions in a video and, together with Davos Klosters, is calling for the "Switchback Challenge".

With Sven Landenberger, Khalid Sidahmed and Gian Bütikofer, the "Scott Davos MTB Project" presents three new U23 riders for the 2024 season. Sven Gehrig from Uri is the only remaining young athlete from last year's line-up.

Possibly the coolest mountain bike events on snow this winter will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Early in the morning, before the slopes open, mountain bikers will race down the fresh slopes from the Weissfluh summit to Küblis. Those who want to treat themselves to the full snow thrill can compete with colleagues in the evening on the Rinerhorn in the "Ride the Night" race.

While biting temperatures are still sweeping through the Alps, at Ride all signs are already pointing to summer trail fun. The first 2024 issue is currently in print, and this marks a small "turning point".

The trails in the Alps are in hibernation. But thanks to e-fat bikes, mountain bikers in Davos can still have fun. The Bike Academy Davos offers guided tours throughout the winter season and the fat bike offer on Pischa will also be in operation from Christmas.

Thanks to the Küblis branch, Bike-Schmiede Stoll now offers the opportunity to pick up exclusive and customized bikes directly on the way to the mountain bike weekend. To mark the inauguration of the second location, an opening event will be held on October 28 and 29 with group rides followed by an aperitif. In addition, guided tours through the in-house carbon museum will give visitors a glimpse into the creation of the high-quality carbon fiber frames.

The risk of rockfall in the Zügen Gorge near Davos caused by storm damage requires further safety measures. The gorge path between Schmelzboden and Wiesen Station or Jenisberg will therefore remain closed until at least the beginning of summer 2024.

In the mountains, the trees are increasingly showing their bright autumn colors, heralding the final phase of this year's mountain bike season. With the support of the mountain railroads, there are three weekends left in October in most destinations to collect many Elevation losses.

The Vintage Bike Masters, a festival for vintage mountain bikes, took place in Klosters last weekend. Only bikes at least 25 years old were permitted. Various races, pleasure rides and a collectors' competition attracted over 200 participants from all over Europe to Klosters, including former stars such as Mike Kluge, Christoph Sauser and Italian downhill legend Giovanna Bonazzi. This vintage happening is to take place every year in future.

The established enduro fun race Mondraker Enduro Team in Davos Klosters will take place for the seventh time from September 7 to 9, 2023. Once again, almost all categories were sold out within a few hours. However, there are still places available for the unique team enduro race for children aged 8 to 15 on September 10, 2023, which celebrated its premiere last year.

The Swiss Epic multi-day MTB race will continue to be held in Graubünden for the next three years. Davos Klosters will remain the stage location for the five-day competition, supplemented by La Punt in the Upper Engadine. The next edition of the "Spar Swiss Epic" is scheduled for August 21-24, 2024.

As a ski run, the descent from Weissfluhjoch above Davos to Küblis in Prättigau enjoys legendary status. It is one of the longest descents that is also available for mountain bikers as the Duranna Run in summer. In the Ride Check, Sandro Schmid puts the route under his tires and is blown away by the scenery and the trails.

The ÖKK Bike Revolution stopped off in Davos for the first time at the weekend. And the first entry in the history books was secured by Alessandra Keller in the women's race and Lars Forster in the men's race.

Ralph van den Berg and Max Chapuis have set a new altitude world record in Davos Klosters. Based on the "Kenveresting Challenge", the pair completed a total of 14,623 meters of ascent in a 16-hour feat of strength.

Davos Klosters is launching the 2023 mountain bike season with the film "Bike Hard", which starts with the opening of the mountain railroads on Jakobshorn on June 3, 2023. Trials mountain biker Tom Oehler is the main character in the film. He is the destination's new bike ambassador and seems to have a lot of fun on the single trails in Davos.

During Cycle Week in Zurich from 11 to 14 May 2023, Destination Davos Klosters will be presenting the new film "Bike Hard" with trials mountain biker Tom Oehler. The film premiere, accompanied by Oehler's trial show, will take place on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 6 pm. The venue is Europaplatz, right next to Zurich main station, with several bike destinations from Graubünden taking part in the trade fair.

The bike manufacturer Stoll is growing, and the company headquarters in Beringen alone is no longer enough. With the second location in Küblis, Graubünden, the brand is not only opening up a new large region. In addition to the traditional sales store, Stoll is also launching a carbon museum in the 400 square meter building, where you can discover everything about the black fiber as well as production in Europe. A small integrated café will round off the visit.

The "Topcard" has established itself as one of the most interesting annual passes for mountain bikers in particular: it allows free access to the Arosa Lenzerheide, Davos Klosters and Flims Laax mountain railroads - bike transport included. The regular price of the Map for adults is CHF 1,550; until April 30, 2024, it is available at a pre-sale price of CHF 1,300.

Two events for snow-crazy mountain bikers will celebrate the approaching end of winter in Davos on Saturday, March 11, 2023. The Morning Flow Ride starts early in the morning from the Weissfluh summit to Küblis. Without timing, but with an obligatory stopover. The event continues in the evening with floodlights on the valley run on the Rinerhorn, where every second is fought for. Registration for both events is now open.

Destination Davos Klosters has extended its contract with Sina Frei for a further year. This makes her the new main partner of the professional mountain biker as of January 1, 2023. A win-win situation for both sides, as the press release states.

In order to keep the Swiss Epic in Graubünden for another three years, the destinations involved will be supported with an annual contribution of 160,000 Swiss francs. This assurance is important for the bidding process to ensure that the event remains in the region from 2024 to 2026.

For some, these are the golden years, the era from 1988 to 1998, when Grundig sponsored the Mountain Bike World Cup. From September 22 to 24, 2023, an event will be held in Klosters to celebrate these early days of mountain biking. Among other things, there will be a race on the original route of the 1993 European Championships, the Swiss Bike Masters will be held as a revival and a festival site in Klosters will provide the perfect setting for vintage fans.

The panoramic trail on Parsenn above Davos is closed. Due to a rockfall and the precarious situation, the trail will remain closed for safety reasons until further notice. It will probably not be passable and accessible again until summer 2023.

From September 1 to 3, 2022, the international enduro scene met for the sixth time in Davos Klosters, Graubünden, for MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM, a race for teams with a maximum fun factor. The almost 450 mountain bikers enjoyed the alpine racing adventure on the first-class trails around the destination of Davos Klosters and cultivated the exceptional camaraderie of the international bike scene. Last but not least, the teams competed in an exciting race. In addition, the newly launched kids' race with over 40 children emerged as a real highlight.

The upper of the two mountain railroad sections on the Jakobshorn in Davos, from Ischalp to the summit of the Jakobshorn, is currently being renovated. The work is proceeding according to plan, which is why Davos Klosters Bergbahnen has decided to carry out additional work at the top and bottom stations of the upper section. However, the start of operations for the 2022 season planned for September has been canceled, which is why the summit lift will not be transporting guests again until next winter.

In order to give mountain bikers and hikers more space on the Alps Epic Trail between the Jakobshorn, Sertig and Rinerhorn, an additional path has been created over a distance of around eight kilometers since the beginning of summer. The characteristics of the paths are to be retained, with the hiking trail running above the trail intended for bikers. The work will continue until fall 2023, but the paths are passable.

The tour over the Ducanfurgga is one of the most beautiful and best things you can do on a mountain bike in the Davos region. Due to a rockfall and continuing danger, the municipality of Davos closed the trail between Fanezfurgga and Sertig Sand on June 1, 2022 until further notice.

Modern e-bikes open up new possibilities for mountain bikers. However, there are still hardly any suitable offers such as camps or tours tailored to technically experienced e-mountain bikers. Herbert.bike is addressing this and invites you to the "E-Mountainbike-Camp" in Laax from July 1 to 3, 2022. Attractive trails will be ridden uphill where possible on three singletrail tours. Herbert's project manager will be responsible for guiding the small group with a maximum of eight guests and will be on hand to talk shop and have a good time.

Spar Switzerland has signed a four-year title partnership with the Swiss Epic in Graubünden. The race will be held under the name "SPAR Swiss Epic" from 2022 to 2025.

The Grischa Trail Ride is a team event where friendship and being on the road together are paramount. The format is unique and has proven itself for 16 years. The field of riders is a mix of long-standing participants, ambitious athletes and relaxed friends who just want to ride along. As you can decide which route you want to ride, the format is suitable for all bikers who like to ride as many trails as possible and always want to discover something new.

Graubünden wants to become the best mountain bike destination in the world and is therefore looking for 25 bikers to put the "Home of Trails" through its paces. The task of those selected: to ride, use and visit the trails, mountain railroads, hotels and restaurants in Graubünden by mountain bike from July 7 to 11, 2022. In the subsequent workshop, they then have to point out what they like, where they see potential for improvement or which services or infrastructure they miss. In order to be selected for one of the 25 places, candidates must answer a few questions and master basic technical skills on a mountain bike.

The Alps Epic Trail in Davos belongs on every bucket list - but maybe not this year. Because there will be construction work on the Jakobshorn next summer, and twice over. Due to the renovation of the upper section of the Jakobshorn cable car, hardly anyone will be riding or hiking over the trail to Sertig in summer 2022. Davos is taking advantage of this situation to build a new hiking trail to complement the existing one, which was previously shared by bikers and hikers.

From September 1 to 3, 2022, the MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM, the team enduro fun race for experienced mountain bikers in Davos Klosters, will take place for the sixth time. Following repeated demand, there will be a test run with a small e-bike category for the first time. Of course, the classic teams of two will also be taking part, as well as the FUN TEAMs of 3 to 6 people that were introduced two years ago. At the third edition of the Swiss Epic in Graubünden, Switzerland's Ariane Lüthi and South Africa's Robyn de Groot take overall victory. Lukas Flückiger and Nicola Rohrbach do the same in the men's race. They win four, Lüthi and de Groot five of the five stages with finishes in St. Moritz, Valposchiavo and Davos.

The MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM mountain bike fun race in the Graubünden destination of Davos Klosters will take place for the fifth time from September 2 to 4, 2021 and has established itself accordingly: The event was completely sold out within just four days, with 70 teams still on the waiting list. It is one of the rare enduro races for teams in Europe and is accordingly well received in the international mountain bike scene. For the 450 lucky participants, the first-class trails of the Davos Klosters region and the camaraderie are the main focus. This is also reflected in the fact that around 40% of the riders do not ride in teams of two, but in the open FUN TEAM category of 3 to 6 people, which was only launched last year.

Winning the Olympic silver medal is the highlight of Sina Frei's career so far. And she is also ideally equipped for the future, as she has excellent training conditions thanks to the recently concluded partnership with Davos Klosters. The destination is known for its healthy mountain air and single trails, which forms the basis for a promising training base.

The completion of the Bolgen Trail will close a gap in the trail network on the Jakobshorn in Davos. From Saturday, August 14, 2021, mountain bikers will be able to ride on trails from Jakobshorn via Ischalp to Bolgen Plaza, with the lowest section from the edge of the forest to the valley floor being new.

On the route of the Bahnentour Davos Klosters, Silvan Marfurt and Ralph Van Den Berg broke the "sound barrier" on 20 July 2021: they mastered 20'845 Elevation loss in one day and set a new world record in mountain biking.

In the first episode of the series "Take Claudio to the Limit", old downhill hands Claudio Caluori and Steve Peat duel it out in the Downhill World Cup just like in the good old days. The bikes they use clearly belong to the "retro" category, but that doesn't stop them from giving it their all on the trails in Davos Klosters.

Just in time for the start of the mountain railroad season on Saturday, June 26, 2021, summer is really picking up speed in Graubünden. Herbert has already been out on the trails and found first-class conditions at medium altitudes. Information on the single trails that can already be ridden can be found in the video and on the websites of the destinations. Careful planning is worthwhile, as there is still widespread snow at high altitudes.

Above the tree line, there is often still snow in Switzerland. But there are opportunities for really good Alpine single trails. For example in the Albula Valley on the Crap Furo route to the geographical center of Graubünden. Ideal this Saturday, for example, the conditions are currently top!

How do I adjust my shock correctly? When is it time to change the brake pads and how exactly do I do it? The Destination Davos Klosters and five Davos bike stores are helping mountain bikers to become a little more autonomous by demonstrating the most important repairs, maintenance and adjustment work in specially produced explanatory videos.

A whole series of new challenges await Claudio Caluori in summer 2021. Three years after Claudio and Danny MacAskill delivered a spectacular chase through the "Home of Trails", this year is once again about glory, but above all about honor, and several times over. Five prominent mountain bikers will challenge Claudio to a duel on the legendary trails in the five bike regions of Graubünden.

Nino Schurter was an ambassador for the Lugano bike region for two years. Now he is once again promoting his home region of Graubünden: as the face of the Fairtrail campaign. A Grisons squabble thus dissolves into pleasure.

The government of the canton of Graubünden approves two partial revisions of local plans and thus sets the traffic light to green for the creation of new trails in Davos and the Upper Engadine. Both projects are intended to close gaps in the destinations' already well-developed single trail network or extend existing trails. From August 18 to 22, 2020, the world's best mountain bikers will ride through the canton of Graubünden from Laax via Arosa to Davos in the Swiss Epic. However, there is still a shortage of helpers at the stage locations. And these are extremely important to ensure a perfectly organized competition from registration to the end of the race, for Olympic champions and the last participants alike.

After her long and successful cross-country career, Nathalie Schneitter scored another coup last year: she became UCI e-mountain bike world champion - the first in the history of cycling. She is also a brand ambassador for "Bosch eBike Systems" and promoter of the e-mountain bike. She still sees a lot of potential for development in racing formats, she says in an interview ahead of her presentation at the Ride Congress.

The "Davos Trail Happening", which was held as a "Trail Ride Contest" in previous years, will take place this year from Friday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5, 2020. Without a contest due to corona, the focus will be all the more on the shared experience on the single trails in Davos. In addition to the mountain bike program, beer will be tasted on Friday evening and a burger party followed by live music on Saturday evening.

After the lockdown uncertainties as to when which events may take place, it is now clear: the Ride Congress in Davos will take place on October 1. The event will now focus on one day with specialist presentations and networking opportunities, while the second day will be dedicated to numerous workshops by and with partner organizations. With this in mind, the registration fee has also been significantly reduced.

What's around the next bend? What's behind the next stone? Will the front wheel hold or not? The beauty of biking is the uncertainty and the fact that you never know exactly what to expect. The tour over the Duranna Pass is actually a classic. But with the new route and the start from the Weissfluhjoch near Davos, it becomes a trail experience that may well surprise you...

The event industry is facing an uncertain summer 2020. The internationally oriented "Swiss Epic" in Graubünden is also facing major challenges. For Managing Director Felix Eichenberger, however, the current uncertainty is a challenge. Until there are clear guidelines, it is important to allocate resources accordingly.

What's in store for us this summer? In a series of articles by Ride Magazine, decision-makers from the tourism industry have their say and explain their perspectives. We start with Reto Branschi, Tourism Director of Davos Klosters. He is convinced that mountain bike tourism will grow strongly, but that Alpine tourism will not take a new direction in the medium term.

Over 500 mountain bikers from more than 40 nations were thrilled by the trails of the Swiss Epic in Graubünden 2019. They will once again get their money's worth in the second edition: on the five stages from Laax via Arosa to Davos, the teams can expect 333 kilometers and almost 13,000 meters of altitude on the most beautiful trails in breathtaking landscapes.

When a trophy is presented to the winners at the World Cup in Lenzerheide, it comes from Daluz Works. And it's not just a trophy, but an original bike antler. If you want to see more of Daluz Works' creative output, you should get to Davos as soon as possible.

What is the future of mountain bike tourism? What are the prospects and opportunities for summer versus winter tourism? And how can these be optimally planned and implemented? This was discussed at the sixth "Ride Congress" on September 19 and 20. Almost 200 experts from the tourism industry once again gathered at the congress center in Davos.

The Ride Congress on September 19 and 20 has established itself as the most important platform for mountain bike tourism in Europe. This is also reflected in the current list of participants. Over 140 people from all over the German-speaking Alpine region are taking part. The organizers are expecting up to 200 participants due to many last-minute registrations.

For the third time, the international enduro scene met in Davos for the Mondraker Enduro2. Despite nasty weather with rain, cold and snow, the 450 riders enjoyed the alpine racing adventure on the trails around the destination of Davos Klosters. The winners were the Wheeler-iXS and Norco Twins Racing teams. In future, the event will take place under the name MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM.

Biking together but how? How can I spend my bike vacation together with my children without it ending in a mutiny? The multimedia presentation by the two mountain bike veterans Karen Eller and Holger Meyer provides entertaining answers.

"The success of a ski resort is not based on summer guests," Dr. Markus Schröcksnadel is convinced. As Managing Director of Vereinigte Bergbahnen GmbH in Switzerland, he is a well-known investor in Saas Fee and Savognin. Markus Schröcksnadel will be speaking at the Ride Congress on September 19/20 and will take part in the subsequent discussion. Michele Casagrande and Fabian Rabensteiner secure overall victory at the Swiss Epic. Adelheid Morath and Bettina Janas take victory in the women's race at the first edition in Graubünden. The Swiss surprises are Casey South and Noah Blöchlinger, as well as Marc Stutzmann and Michael Stünzi with second and third place in the final classification, as well as the duo Kupfernagel/Baumann in fifth place.

On Wednesday, June 26, 2019, World Shovel Day took place for the fourth time. Graubünden celebrated the start of the mountain bike season in the mountains.

Herbert and his buddies shovelled like the wildest berserkers at various locations in Graubünden.

Much of the terrain is now rideable - but it was a David versus Goliath battle.

There's been a real thaw in the mountains for a few days now. The sun is melting, rain is washing away, hot air would be fine too, but Herbert is shoveling! For the start of the cable car season on the weekend of June 29 and 30, Herbert and his friends are digging through the snow fields to clear the top trails.

When 150 mountain bikers ride up to the Parsenn cable car early in the morning during the ski season, it's the Morning Flow Ride in Davos. The longest descent in Switzerland on snow beckons, from the Weissfluh summit to Küblis, around 2000 meters below. Perfect slopes, the bright morning sun and the odd luz make the 150 participants grin permanently.

It's on - the season has started with the first 2019 issue of Ride! The richly illustrated magazine conjures up springtime feelings in everyday life with its many colors and makes season planning easier. For example, with the panoramic trail in Davos, the two-day Gottardo Pass tour, the Punta Chaligne in Aosta or the trail trip to Lisbon.

A tour of superlatives: almost exclusively downhill, almost 100 percent singletrack and lots of panoramic views - whatever that may be.

After five editions in Valais, the Swiss Epic is moving to the canton of Graubünden. And even before the five-day mountain bike race is even in sight, the organizers are announcing their first success: the more than 250 team starting places for the stage race from 20 to 24 August 2019 are already sold out.
