The title of the film is a reference to the Hollywood blockbuster series "Die Hard", which became known in English as "Die Hard". It also features the same dubbing voice as in the cult film series, including the cult slogan "Yippie-Ya-Yay, pig cheek!". The voice belongs to Manfred Lehmann. The German voice actor has already dubbed numerous film stars, including Bruce Willis, Gérard Depardieu and Kurt Russell.
