At least once it works and we meet a pedestrian who is annoyed by mountain bikers on her path. Ten of us set off on a sunny Sunday afternoon to cross as many hikers and walkers as possible so that we could show them how friendly and courteous we mountain bikers are.

Alec Wohlgroth, one of the perpetrators of the Uetliberg verdict, and Züritrails, represented by Luise Rohland and Flurin Dörig, who share the presidency, made the call. Alec has been on a goodwill tour since he won in court. Friendly cooperation is actually much closer to his heart than legal wrangling. Biker, friendly, looking

The few pedestrians we meet this afternoon on the single trails on the Uetliberg take note of us in a relaxed to friendly manner. There is only one expression of displeasure on this day: "You bikers are a nuisance!" says the woman. Her facial expression reveals that she is not particularly suffering from this affliction. Instead, she feels sorry for us, saying that we wouldn't get anything out of the beautiful countryside if we sped along like this. Alec is immediately on top form, telling her with a broad smile that he loves the paths and nature just as much as she does. He overwhelms the walker with his charm, hands her and her baffled companion "Zäme happy" stickers and lets them go on their way.

Even at the Naturfreundehaus, there is no one to convert. We are welcome as guests, after all, we increase the clientele tenfold and launch a serious attack on the entire cake camp. There is no further interaction worth mentioning on the single trails. The bike skeptics are elsewhere that afternoon.
