Spotguide Martigny - Verbier

The Martigny region is one of the MTB hotspots in Valais. Verbier high above the Val de Bagnes is particularly well-known, but the other valleys such as the Val d'Entremont (Great St. Bernard) or the Vallee de Trient also have a lot to offer. In the Martigny region, the single trails can be ridden almost all year round, while the area extends into high alpine regions. Constant companions on tours in the region are the mighty Grand Combin and the even more imposing Mont Blanc massif.

Arrival by public transport

The Martigny region has excellent public transport connections. Martigny itself is on the intercity Geneva-Lausanne-Brig line. Regional railroad lines run to Le Châble and Orsières as well as through the Valle de Trient. From there, the villages are served by post buses. Almost all lines run every hour and bicycles can be taken on board. Traveling by public transport from Aosta over the Great St. Bernard Pass is possible but inconvenient. There are only a few connections and on the Italian side, bike transport is not guaranteed because the buses do not have rear racks.

Arrival by car

You can reach Martigny by private car on the highway from Lausanne or Sion. The journey from the Aosta Valley is via the Great St. Bernard Pass (toll road tunnel). From here, all towns are easily accessible by car all year round
