New 29er line
Wheeler's new Brazilian trail bikes are named after a legendary flowing trail in the Valais Alps and aim to combine the advantages of 29er wheels with plenty of suspension travel. The manufacturer has opted for a newly designed frame with a single-pivot rear triangle to provide 140 mm of suspension travel.
650B also popular in lower price regions
The entry-level class around the Protron series also benefits from the advantages of the 27.5-inch wheel size and aims to impress with fast and agile bikes for everyday use. With the Protron Anniversary model, Wheeler is launching a special model with the latest 650B technology in a limited edition as early as September.
Wheeler Hornet 16
The frame made of double-butted aluminum tubes has a tapered head tube, a press-fit bottom bracket with ISCG05 mounts and a 12 mm rear thru-axle. There is also enough space for a water bottle. The rear suspension has 160mm of travel, which, together with the 27.5-inch wheels, should ensure fast progress even on demanding trails. The Fox suspension elements from the Factory series can be quickly adjusted to your needs thanks to the CTD system, and the Fox 34 fork can also be lowered. This and the XT groupset from Shimano including triple cranks give the "Hornet 16" wings on the climbs too. A LEV telescopic seatpost from Kind Shock and "IceTec Freeza" brake disks are also installed. The price is CHF 4,600 and the scales stop at 13.9 kilograms.
Wheeler Brazilian 14
To enable 140 millimetres of suspension travel despite the large 29er wheels, the engineers have developed a new frame with a single-pivot rear triangle design. It also incorporates the latest standards such as a tapered head tube, press-fit bottom bracket and a 12 mm thru-axle at the rear. Together with the Fox shocks, the Taiwanese manufacturer promises the "Brazilian 14" a sporty bike with a lowerable fork and firm suspension that is variable via the CTD system, which can also smooth out rough terrain if required. It also comes with an XT/SLX groupset from Shimano including a triple crankset adapted to the larger wheels and a LEV telescopic seatpost from Kind Shock. Other key figures: CHF 4,400 and 13.9 kilograms.
