Bontrager has introduced a new integrated BITS tool for. This storage solution stows the most important tools for the trail safely in the steerer tube of your mountain bike. The system is integrated into the steerer tube of the mountain bike using a compression fitting instead of the star nut, so that the supplied multitool and the corresponding mount can be stored cleanly, invisibly and always ready to hand without any modification to the fork.
The clamp screw connection guarantees a secure, rattle-free fit of the tool and the holder, which can be pulled out effortlessly thanks to the handle. "This system is perfect for riders who don't like to stuff their pockets and prefer to ride without a backpack or saddlebag," explains Michael Fitch, Trek's Director of Product for Essentials.
The included multi-tool comes with various Allen keys, a screwdriver and a chain tool and offers space for several chain locks. Thanks to two bolt lengths and several spacers, the tool can be used with almost all frame sizes and steerer tube lengths. The system is not compatible with carbon steerer tubes or bikes with threaded headsets.
