Eveline Schneitter and Jürg Graf were the first to pull on the E-MTB champion's jersey. They will have to defend it next Saturday if they want to ride the Swiss cross for another season.

The venue is the same as last year: the start and finish are at the Catrina Resort in Disentis, with one of the new trails in the Surselva providing the race course on Saturday. Ralph Näf and his Thömus Maxon Swiss Mountain Bike Racing Team are partners of the resort and the event. Last year's winners, who both ride for other brands and teams, prove that this does not give his team members an undue advantage.

The women start at 11.30 am on Saturday and the men at 1.30 pm. Those who are not riding for federation titles, but for fame and fun, will have to wait until 6 pm. Then the prologue for the Catrina Hill Climb King begins. The aim is to conquer the Catrina Skills Park uphill and without putting your feet down. Then the season end party is on the agenda, although the Hill Climb participants don't tackle their main race until the next day.

50 kilometers await them. But covering this distance is only half the battle. The Hill Climbers have six tasks to complete. For example, finding and photographing an object at a location. Or riding a technical section of the route without putting a foot down. Ralph Näf came up with the whole thing and, as we all know, he has a sense of humor. So it could be fun.
