Following the introduction of the Fuel EX 27.5 with Plus tires, Trek now presents a new generation of its most popular and multi-award-winning full-suspension trail bike models, the Fuel EX and Remedy.

These completely newly developed models each feature more aggressive geometry, longer suspension travel, stiffer frames and different wheel sizes. With its versatility, the new Fuel EX should remain the ideal choice for trail bikers who are looking for off-road adventure and are not afraid of rough terrain. The new Remedy is more or less the big brother of the Fuel EX and reinforces its existing enduro capabilities. Trek promises to combine the playfulness and agility of a trail bike with the robustness of a downhill bike.

Fuel EX with 29er wheels - with exceptions

The brand new Fuel EX 29 aims to offer more control at high speeds and on technical descents with a more stretched, slacker geometry and over 130 millimetres of travel at the front and rear (previously 120 millimetres). Improvements to the down tube - which is no longer bent, but straight throughout - are intended to increase frame stiffness without adding weight, making the bike more robust in every respect, according to Trek, while remaining agile for optimum performance on all trails. The Fuel EX is also available in three versions for women with WSD-specific (Women's Specific Design) contact points. The 15.5˝ and 14.5˝ frame sizes are combined with 27.5˝ wheels, offering smaller women greater maneuverability and a better fit. With the exception of the Fuel EX 27.5 Plus, all other Fuel EX models are equipped with 29˝ wheels.

What can the Remedy new do?

With a full 150 millimeters of travel front and rear and a slacker steering angle, the new Remedy is the perfect bike for enduro racers with a preference for technical trails, according to the US manufacturer. The new Remedy is equipped with Trek developments such as ABP (Active Braking Pivot), EVO Link, Full Floater and RE:aktiv suspension technology. In this brand new model, the RE:aktiv damping is now offered in a RockShox shock. The proven technology is thus given an even wider range of suspension options. The special Straight Shot down tube of the new Remedy makes the frame stiffer, so that this bike meets all requirements from all-mountain to enduro. For ambitious racers, Trek offers two Race Shop Limited Remedy models including a 160 mm fork with adjustable suspension travel. The Remedy Women's is characterized in particular by the WSD-specific contact points and its special design. The entire Remedy model range rolls onto the trails with 27.5˝ wheels. This means that the previous 29er Remedy is no longer part of the range, with the Fuel EX closing the gap, which now has more travel and is more trail-oriented.

And how do the already legendary bikes ride?

Trek is on record: Both platforms are more powerful than ever before, but they retain the typical riding behavior that bikers love and continue to expect from these models. Both the Fuel EX and the Remedy feature the Mino Link, which allows the frame geometry to be individually adapted to the conditions of different trails and terrains. Trek's internal Control Freak cable routing system is also built into the Alpha Aluminum models of both bikes. Both models also feature the recently introduced Knock Block frame protection, which prevents contact between the down tube and the fork crown and the top tube and handlebar ends.

According to the manufacturer, all new bikes in the Fuel EX and Remedy model series will be available from Trek dealers from July.

The Trek Fuel EX 9.8 - 27.5 Plus has already been presented and tested in detail by Ride.
