The tread design is inspired by two of Bontrager's most popular tires. "We have combined the light and fast running center tread of the popular XR2 with the more aggressive side lugs of the XR4 to create a tire that is not only fast, but also versatile and safe. The new XR3 is a race-ready XC tire that you can really let rip with," explains Graham Wilhelm, Trek's Product Director for Wheels and Tires.

Like all Bontrager XR Series Team Issue tires, the XR3 features a lightweight yet reinforced carcass for increased sidewall protection and is designed as a tubeless ready tire for easy and durable tubeless mounting in conjunction with Bontrager TLR wheels and sealant.

For every Bontrager mountain bike tire sold by Trek (in North America), $1 will be donated to NICA and its commitment to the future of MTB racing. Trek and Bontrager support NICA's mission to build physical, mental and character fitness in children through cycling.

The new XR3 Team Issue is available in 29x2.4 and 27.5x2.8 sizes through Trek's worldwide dealer network.
