The April issue is the traditional start to the season for Ride, with plenty of anticipation for the summer's trail menu. The starter is provided by the Tête de Balme with its racy singletrail route with Mont Blanc within easy reach. For the  main course, the Niesen on Lake Thun is presented - the classic excursion mountain also has a spicy touch when it comes to mountain biking. The dessert has to be earned: The Fuorcla Valletta in the Upper Engadine is a sweet and delicate route, seasoned with a dash of muscular acidity.

In addition to the three tours in the Alps, the Ride edition also offers a little dreaming: Ride traveled to the cult town of Moab and took a look around to see what's going on in the legendary trail spot in the Rocky Mountains today. The Ride editions also include great background reports. There are three of them in this issue. Ride has asked around the women's freeride scene and shows why the girls could soon be flying around the boys' ears. Another report looks at trail financing. Who pays for the trails and their maintenance, who is responsible and which pots of money can be tapped into. The two reports are complemented by an analysis of the historic trail court ruling on Zurich's Uetliberg.
