Oakley is one of the best-known luxury brands in the world. The California-based company has now been acquired by the Italian eyewear group Luxottica. According to agency reports, the purchase price amounts to 2.1 billion US dollars. Luxottica is the producer of almost all well-known luxury eyewear brands such as Ray-Ban, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Versace and Sergio Tacchini. The company is based in Belluno in the southern Dolomites.
