The Air-Liner from Vittoria has the following mission: to protect the rim, provide more grip and prevent punctures. The Air-Liner was developed by Vittoria together with Deaneasy and is produced in Italy. This technical foam is made from the latest polymer technology and is milled from a single piece. Unlike 3D printing or extrusion, milling does not interfere with the chemical structure of the polymer. The added value of the Air-Liner compared to competitor products lies in its production process alone. The poison green tire insert has been developed to cover all aspects of mountain biking and is therefore available in four different sizes, from 1.9" to 4". The rim circumference can be defined by simply cutting the foam to length.

According to Vittoria, the Air-Liner can be mounted either on standard wheels or on tubeless-ready wheels, with tubeless and tubeless-ready tires, as well as with any sealant, preferably without ammonia. In addition, all standard tubeless valves can be used. In addition to grip, puncture and rim protection, Vittoria lists further advantages: The insert prevents an abrupt loss of air, so-called burping, offers more comfort by absorbing high-frequency vibrations.

Although the polymer used is only slightly dense, it is very robust. The special structure makes the Air-Liner lightweight without compromising on durability or robustness: The weight is between 160 and 220 grams, depending on the size chosen. And it is expected to last around 2,000 hours under normal conditions. Respectively one hour for a rider weighing around 80 kilos, when the tire is ridden flat and the Air-Liner has to do its full work.

The Air-Liner is available via the distributor Fuchs-Movesa from August 2018 at an RRP of CHF 89.00.
